Private by design
Hint is built for people who want to keep gift ideas secret. Your people, hints, and occasions are stored locally on your device. We do not operate a server that stores your gift lists.
What we collect
In Hint, the data you enter stays on your phone. You can export and import a JSON backup in Settings → Backup. iCloud sync and AI gift ideas are on the roadmap but are not available in the app yet.
No app analytics
The Hint iOS app does not include usage analytics. We do not track onboarding steps, feature use, or how you navigate the app. Your people, hints, and occasions never leave your device for analytics.
Crash reports
The app sends crash reports to a self-hosted service when a crash occurs.
Purchases
Hint Pro purchases are processed through the Apple App Store. Purchase history is processed by Apple to verify your entitlement. We do not use purchase data for advertising or profiling.
